More from Denmark

The last two weeks have seen the new Smokie develop, improve and thrill audiences in six of the best Danish venues. When your promoter announces next year’s tour, and it’s longer than this year’s tour, you can be sure that something is going right. We no longer need to answer the question of how well this line up will be accepted because the audiences have easily answered it with their applause, their cheers and their energetic singing. Time to relax and do what we do, and that is to entertain with the best combination of songs we can put together. Although only required to play for seventy five minutes, we have been playing for a hundred and five because we are enjoying playing so much and the time seems to just slip away so easily. The musicianship within the band is at its highest level and there are arrangements that have never been heard before at Smokie concerts. The last three shows were at Tobakken in Esbjerg, Odeon at Odense and Kongres & Kultur Center in Aalborg. The crowds have been immense and the response has been equally huge. What more could we ask for? Our tribute to Terry has taken us to such heights beyond that which we could imagine. Now we have four days to recover before braving the Easter travel rush to get to Slovenia.
